Foamed concrete is an excellent material to use in your building project. It is a highly durable material that is easy to work with and is fire resistant.
It is a form of concrete that is injected into the existing concrete mixture. It is very common for do-it-yourself projects to incorporate foam concrete. The foaming agent is diluted in water before it is pumped into the concrete.
To make foamed concrete, you need to mix the cement and water properly. There are several ways to do this. You can either purchase a foaming machine or you can use a power drill with an attached paint mixer.
When you are ready to pour your AirCrete mix, you will need to pump it into a mold. This will help it cure. For this purpose, you will need a large bucket. Also, wear protective eyewear and long sleeved shirts to prevent the mortar from sticking to your skin.
Once you have poured the mixture into the molds, you should allow it to set for at least a couple of hours. If you need to speed up the process, you can also apply rapid hardening cement.
Depending on the density required, you may need to add other materials like limestone and fly ash. Typically, the ratio of these ingredients is between 30 and 70 percent.
To test whether your foamed concrete is stable enough to withstand the curing process, you can take a few measurements. First, you can measure the total volume of the foamed concrete. Next, you can calculate the theoretical density.
