A Study on the Properties of a Foaming Agent for Concrete

During the construction of buildings, foam concrete is used as a substitute for fine aggregate. This is done by mixing a cement-based slurry, containing water and a stabilizer. The mixture can be pumped into molds or poured into structural elements.

A foaming agent for concrete is composed of a number of surfactants, preservative agents, water, and solvents. It is used in building foundations and pavements. It is also considered to be a cheaper alternative to conventional cement.

It was also observed that the air-voids in the specimens with the density of 720 kg/m3 and 700 kg/m3 were lower than the specimens with the density of 500 kg/m3. It was also observed that some of the specimens with the density of 800 kg/m3 had larger pores.
