Aluminium oxide, also known as Al2O3, an inorganic compound has the chemical formula of an organic material. This compound of high hardness has a melting temperature at 2054 degrees C and a boiling point at 2980 degrees Celsius. It is able to be ionized at high temperatures. This compound is used in the manufacture of refractory materials.
