SnS2 can exfoliate to form atomic layers sheets like many two-dimensional semiconductors. This is useful in FET and other photovoltaic solar cells as well as sensors and photocatalysts.

Tin disulfide (an acidic sulfide) is water-soluble and can undergo coordination reactions with concentrated hydrochloric Acid. You can mix it with ammonium-sulfide for dissolution.
