What is CLC block?

CLC block (Cellular Lightweight Concrete Blocks, CLC bricks) use cement, slag, river sand, fly ash, and slag as raw materials to produce concrete materials that are stirred and foamed form a microcellular bubble structure. After cutting, curing and other processes, It is a new wall material with environmental protection, energy-saving and stable performance. CLC block has high strength, lightweight, heat insulation, sound insulation, heat preservation, convenient construction and high efficiency.

Advantages of CLC blocks

Lightweight: CLC blocks are very light, with a density ranging from 300 to 1800 Kg / m3. The weight is 1/3 of clay or flies ash bricks.

Environmental friendly: CLC blocks are environmentally friendly. Foamed concrete is an eco-friendly material because fly ash and other industrial waste are used in some manufacturing plants to protect the environment. The production process or use process of CLC blocks will not release any harmful waste water to the ground, water or air. CLC blocks are light in weight and are ideal for making partitions. The use of CLC blocks for this will reduce the need for plywood partitions. Therefore, this will reduce deforestation and benefit the environment.

Sound insulation: CLC blocks are very suitable for sound insulation, keeping the house cool in summer and warm in winter, thereby saving energy/electricity for cooling and heating. Depending on the thickness of the block, it is possible to obtain higher values.

Insulation layer: The insulation layer is a 100 mm thick CLC wall, and the dense concrete wall of equivalent thickness must be more than five times thicker and ten times more massive.

Low water absorption: The water absorption of this material is relatively lower than any other material. This is much better than 50% concrete and ordinary bricks, which have a water absorption rate of about 50% to 80%. The low water absorption of these CLC blocks will help reduce cracks in the wall.

Fire protection: Foamed concrete blocks provide fire protection for the grate. The wall thickness is only 100 mm, the density is 1000 kg/m3, and it has 4 hours of heat transfer and fire resistance, and will not release any toxic smoke during a fire. The fire rating of porous concrete is far better than brickwork or dense concrete.

Easy to handle: Foamed concrete blocks are easy to install, which can minimize construction costs. They do not require minimal maintenance, thereby reducing long-term costs. Foamed concrete blocks can save cement, sand, water, labour, energy and time.

CLC bricks raw material ratio

Raw material:Cement, coal ash, water, concrete foaming agent;

CLC bricks raw material ratio:The density of the CLC bricks is mostly 550-850kg/m3. When the type of raw material is determined, the proportion needs to be adjusted by experiment.

Steps to prepare CLC blocks

The foam generator is produced by the foam generator and injected into the slurry in the foamed concrete mixture of cement, fly ash and water. It produces many small bubbles, which are evenly distributed throughout the concrete, producing bubbles of 300kg/m3-1800kg/m3 with compressive strength between 5kg/cm2 and 200kg/cm2. The volume of bubbles in foamed concrete determines the density and strength. The final mixture is then used in various applications without any vibration or compaction. Fly ash is a waste of thermal power plants. Therefore, foam concrete is a green building material.
